General FAQ

Question: 1.1 Why do I need to register? Answer: You may not have to, it is up to the administrator as to whether you need to register in order to view the images and/or post comments. It only takes a few moments to register so it is recommended you do so. Question: 1.2 How do I register? Answer: Go to "Register yourself here" and fill out the required fields (and the optional ones if you want to). If the Administrator has Email Activation enabled, then after submitting your information you should receive an email message at the address that you have submitted while registering, giving you instructions on how to activate your membership. Your membership must be activated in order for you to login. Question: 1.3 I haven't received a confirmation e-mail! Answer: Usually it's send within one hour but it can take up to 24 hours for your confirmation email to be delivered. Sometimes there is a problem with spam filters. Please check your spam folder as this seems to resolve most cases. This applies particularly when you have a Hotmail or Yahoo e-mail account. If this still doesn't solve your problem, click on "Missed activation link?" and fill out the form. If that doesn't work either, contact the administrator through the contact form on this site and explain your situation. Also don't forget to mention your (registered) username. This way, the administrator can manually active the account on your behalf. Question: 1.4 How Do I login? Answer: On top of the site (on the right), there's a user login area. Submit your username and password and check "Remember Me" so you will be logged in on the site if you should leave it. IMPORTANT: Cookies must be enabled and the cookie from this site must not be deleted in order to use "Remember Me". Question: 1.5 Why can I not login? Answer: Did you register and click the link that was sent to you via email? The link will activate your account. For other login problems contact the site administrator. Question: 1.6 What if I forgot my password? Answer: If this site has a "Retrieve lost password" link then use it. Other than that contact the site administrator for a new password. Question: 1.7 How do I save a picture to "My Favorites"? Answer: Under "File Information" there's a link called "Add to Favorites". IMPORTANT: Cookies must be enabled and the cookie from this site must not be deleted. Question: 1.8 How do I rate a file? Answer: Click on a thumbnail and go to the bottom and choose a rating. Question: 1.9 How do I post a comment for a picture? Answer: Click on a thumbnail and go to the bottom and post a comment. Only registered users are able to leave comments. Question: 1.10 How do I upload a file? Answer: Direct upload is disabled on this site. Question: 1.11 Why can't I upload? Answer: There are strict rules when it comes to accepting scans. 1. Images that are taken without permission from the scanner and/or from other people's website will not be accepted. 2. Images need to be scanned at 400-600dpi (preferable 600dpi). If we allow users to upload, we can't guaranty they followed these rules. Another reason is the quality. All images are being edited first before they show up in the gallery. This means the images are being levelled; cropped; cleaned from unwanted dust, shadows; and resized to our standard width of 1000px. We've been trying to provide our users with high quality scans, and would like to continue to do so in the future. Therefore, we prefer to have *raw images send to us by email. *Raw images are scans fresh from the scanning process. Without any cropping and/or leveling done with Photoshop. Question: 1.12 What are cookies? Answer: Cookies are a plain text piece of data that is sent from a website and is put on to your computer. Cookies usually allow a user to leave and return to the site without having to login again and other various chores. Question: 1.13 Where can I get this program for my site? Answer: Coppermine is a free Multimedia Gallery, released under GNU GPL. It is full of features and has been ported to various platforms. Navigating the Site

Question: 1.1 What's "Album List"? Answer: This will show you the entire category you are currently in, with a link to each album. If you are not in a category, it will show you the entire gallery with a link to each category. Thumbnails may be a link to the category. Question: 1.2 What's "My Gallery"? Answer: This feature lets users create their own galleries and add, delete or modify albums as well as upload to them. Currently, the administrator decided to disable this feature. Question: 1.3 What's "Last Uploads"? Answer: This feature shows the last uploads to the site. Question: 1.4 What's "Last Comments"? Answer: This feature shows the last comments along with the files posted by users. Question: 1.5 What's "Most Viewed"? Answer: This feature shows the most viewed files by all users (whether logged in or not). Question: 1.6 What's "Top Rated"? Answer: This feature shows the top rated files rated by the users, showing the average rating (e.g: five users each gave a : the file would have an average rating of ; Five users rated the file from 1 to 5 (1,2,3,4,5) would result in an average .) The ratings go from (best) to (poor). Question: 1.7 What's "My Favorites"? Answer: This feature will let a user store a favorite file in the cookie that was sent to your computer.

FM Gallery

Question: 3.1 Why is the image in the rotating banner not available on this site? Answer: Most of the time it's from a two-page spread image. These type of images requires a lot of editing, therefore they show up much later. These banners are basically previews of images that will be uploaded. Please give it some time. Question: 3.2 I can't download my Favorites! Answer: There's a maximum of 50 images you can download from your favorites at once. If you exceed this number, you'll download an empty zip file. Question: 3.3 Why can't I download an entire album? Answer: Because I'm afraid it will kill our bandwidth. Question: 3.4 How do I delete my account? Answer: Click on Edit my Profile and scroll all the way down till you see "Delete my user account."
